During a morning sightseeing tour, visit the Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Then view the Belvedere Palace, Prater Amusement Park, the UN Buildings, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and other reminders of the city’s Imperial History. The rest of the day at leisure to stroll through Christmas Markets of Vienna (B).
After breakfast, we drive to Melk, to visit the Abbey founded back in 1089. Today’s Baroque abbey was built between 1702 and 1736, especially noteworthy are the abbey church with its frescos by Johann Michael Rottmayr and the library with countless medieval manuscripts (many of them musical). Continuing to Salzburg, the city of Mozart. Check-in to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will also visit the famous “Silent Night” chapel. Overnight. . (B)
The sightseeing tour in the morning includes the well-known sites like Getreidegasse, the Cathedrale, and the festival house. In the afternoon, visit Salzburg’s Christmas Market, mentioned as far back as the 15th century, located at the foot of the Hohensalzburg fortress and around the venerable Cathedral of Salzburg. (B)
Leaving Salzburg in the morning, heading to Regensburg for an orientation tour of the city. Afterwards, visit its impressive Christmas market, settled in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Proceed to Nuremberg. The evening is free to visit one of its Christmas markets. (B)
Morning sightseeing tour features major sites, including medieval city of Nuremberg, a trip to the Nazi Party rally grounds and the Nuremberg trials. Afternoon, visit the main square and it’s Christkindlmarket, one of the oldest and best in Europe. Don’t miss tasting the famous Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and mulled wine. (B)
Late morning drive to Munich. Check in to your hotel. Afternoon visit to one of the Christmas markets. Farewell dinner in Hofbräuhaus restaurant. Overnight. (B, D)
Join an extensive city tour of Munich – the capital of the state of Bavaria. We will see Nymphenburg castle. In past times, the baroque palace was the residence of the monarchs of Bavaria. Next will be the Rezidence, Maximilian and Leopold Street, the Opera, the Olympic grounds, the Marienplatz with the city hall and the famous Carillon, church of St. Peter, the Viktualien-market and many more. The afternoon dedicated to visit the oldest among the Christmas markets is Munich, Christkindlmarket at Marienplatz (main square). (B)
