Passports & visas
A valid passport is required of all tour participants. It must be valid six months after date of return. Your travel agent can help you obtain the necessary forms for passport application.
Non-US citizens must consult with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed. All passengers, regardless of the passport they hold, should check with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed. Securing any needed visas is the responsibility of the tour participant.
In order to ensure congenial membership, Kompas reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant and to expel from the tour any participant whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the tour group.
Tour members should check with the consulates and/or the local health boards for the latest health requirements.
Travelers who need special assistance
Any disability requiring special attention must be reported to Kompas at the time of booking. Kompas will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but is not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, lodges, restaurants, or other independent suppliers, nor any additional expenses incurred. Young tour participants
Tour participants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult; they receive a 10% discount on the escorted tour land price. On our Adriatic small ship cruises the following reductions apply:
- 3rd adult sharing a cabin: 30%
- Child (age 3-7 yrs) sharing with 2 adults: 70%

- Child (age 3-16) sharing with 1 adult: 50%
Program prices are per person, based on two persons sharing a room. Single room supplements are listed where applicable. All prices are based on rates (including foreign exchange rates) known at time of printing and expected to be in effect at departure. Prices, including taxes and fees, are subject to increase without notice if such rates change prior to departure.
The hotels listed in this brochure will be used on almost all departures. If a change becomes necessary for any reason, hotels substituted will be similar to those shown. While every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedded rooms, it may occasionally happen that a hotel provides some double-bedded rooms instead. These rooms will be allocated to couples. Please note it is standard policy that hotel rooms are available for check-in after 3 p.m. Early hotel check-in requires a pre-night be booked and paid for.
Private bath & single rooms: In exceptional cases where private bath or single rooms are not available, refunds are made by the Tour Director. Claims made in this respect cannot be accepted after the tour.
Although available at most 4 and 5 star hotels, conditions and use of air-conditioning abroad differs greatly from the United States. Many European hotels were built before central air-conditioning was introduced. Air-conditioning is often shut down at night.
